Vigdis Haugtroe listakona frá Noregi, kynnir verk sín og Franciscus de Gier í hádegisfyrirlestri Opna Listaháskólans í húsnæði myndlistardeildar LHÍ, Laugarnesvegi 91, stofu 024, mánudaginn 15. febrúar kl. 12:30.
With a background in both theatre and visual art, Vigdis Haugtrø studied at the National academy of fine arts in Norway/Oslo and graduated in 2002. Her main focus has been installations, investigating how to redraw the spectator from her or his primarily position; looking at art, to participate in art, and through this experience of physical activity, reach different levels of stored memory, that is captured in the body, rather than the mind and activated through this often playful activities.
The widest extend of this artistic approach is so far, a habitable house made of euro pallets and scrap wood, available as a Artist Residence in the test-ecological city part Svartlamon in Trondheim. The house gives shelter and opens for another form of living trough the daily routine, uniting new techno-logy and old traditions in a balanced agreement to meet the standards for sustainable building and living. The project that has taken two years to develop, and complete is a collaboration with artist Johannes Franciscus de Gier (NL) 2007-2009 www.husly.net The two artists won recognition for Husly at Bauhaus Foundation in Dessau 2008. The colla-boration with de Gier started in 2006 and has developed in various projects. Ecology, trash art and found objects are the origin for the relational projects, often developed as actions in common space, over a brief period of time. The artists have sometimes lived in the workspace, and on street level established a dialog with the audience, rising questions about living, surviving and communicating.
At the artist talk Vigdis will present their collaboration the last three years.
