Artistic Research Conference
The Iceland Art Academy organized an international conference on Artistic Research, October 3-4 2008.
The aim of the conference was to launch academic discourse on research in and through the arts, cutting across disciplines such as fine art, drama, music, architecture and design. The Academy is now planning practice-based MA programs in various departments, and the conference was meant to be a steppingstone into a future discourse on the complex issues surrounding artistic research.
The event seeked to include a broad range of stakeholders; such as academics, practicing artists, critics, museum and gallery workers, and, of course, students.
The conference took place in Sölvhólsgata 13 in Reykjavik (department of theater and music).
