Omari moskan, sem er staðsett í hjarta Gaza, er elsta moskan í Palestínu. Sögu hennar má rekja aftur til 7. aldar. Moskan hefur margoft verið endurbyggð vegna skemmda af völdum sprenginga og jarðskjálfta. Þrátt fyrir að útlit hennar hafi breyst hefur hún alltaf haldið sínu menningarlega og tilfinningalega gildi. Þetta þrívíddar módel er óður til Gaza og allra þeirra mögnuðu bygginga og menningararfs sem hefur glatast í gegnum tíðina. Þessi endurgerð moskunnar er einskonar tákn eða áminning um styrk Palestínubúa og endurspeglar von mína um að heimili þeirra á Gaza verði endurbyggð á ný.

The Great Omari mosque which is situated in the heart of Gaza, is the oldest mosque in Palestine. Its history can be traced back to the 7th century. The mosque has many times been reconstructed, been through bombings and earthquakes, changed its form and construction but always withheld its cultural and emotional significance. This three-dimensional model is a tribute to Gaza and all of the beautiful architecture and history that has been destroyed, but it also serves as a reminder of hope and strength that Gaza can be rebuilt again.
