On Monday the 18th of September at 12.30 pm an open lecture by Egill Sæbjörnsson will be held at the department of fine art Laugarnesvegur 91.

At the forefront of experimentation, Egill combines music, sculpture, video projection and animations, as well as his own performance – whether as a mime artist, speaker, actor, musician, or singer – to create fictional spatial narratives. Theatrical, poetic and playful, ordinary dormant, objects come alive in Sæbjörnsson’s works – be they plastic buckets, a wall, rough stones or handbags – drawing the viewer into a wondrous world where the real and the imagined collide.

Sæbjörnsson represents Iceland at 57th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, where he joined forces with the two trolls turned artists, Ūgh and Bõögâr, in Out of Controll in Venice.

The lecture will be held in English and is open to the public.
