The visit to Thalía

Last January, the Backstage Theatre Company received a grant from the Performing Arts Fund to stage the play The visit to ThalíaVigdís Gunnarsdóttir, assistant professor at the Department of Art Education, is in charge of the theater group and wrote the work. Along with her, the group includes Halldóra Rósa Björnsdóttir, Sigríður Ásta Olgeirsdóttir and Tómas Geir Howser.

In the spring, the theater group will invite students in the 4th and 5th grades of elementary schools in West Iceland to the theater performance. The visit to ThalíaThe work revolves around a visit to the theater by the goddess of drama, Thalia.

During the visit, the audience gets to meet the colorful individuals who work in the theater, take a look behind the scenes, and become participants in an exciting series of events that span different corners of the theater. The exhibition gives students an insight into the world of theater in a lively and creative way.
