This month's chain letter is here, and this time it includes a micro-interview with Dr. Ingimar Ólafsson Waage, Dean of the Department of Art Education.
The chain letter affects all groups within the Academy of the Arts, students and staff. The chain letter gives us the opportunity to get to know each other a little better, one letter at a time.
Who knows… maybe the next chain letter will find its way to you!
Now that you have just completed your doctoral defense and can officially call yourself Dr. Ingimar, do you feel any change within yourself?
No, no changes. I'm still the same old mama's boy.
Are you thinking about further studies in the future or do you finally consider yourself fully educated?
I have found that the more you learn, the more you realize how little you know. So if I learn more, I will know less and less. It would end up that I would know nothing at all about any created thing. Being fully educated is therefore the same as knowing nothing. In a way, there is great freedom in knowing nothing; ignorance is bliss.
What are you going to do with all this wisdom?
Wisdom is knowing that you know nothing, and a person who knows nothing has nothing and therefore can do nothing… So I'm just going to relax.
Thank you very much Ingimar for allowing us to get to know you a little better.
