Sælugaukur is a classical music festival being held for the first time this year by students at the Iceland Academy of the Arts.

The festival takes place in the historical venue Skálholt on the weekend of 29. June - 2. July.
Performers and composers of Sælugaukur will offer a varied programme cosisting of Icelandic music, premiered music and some of the great classics. Sælugaukur creates a new venue for young aspiring musicians to perform and to get opportunity to play their music, enjoy the spectacular acoustics at Skálholt and its important cultural heritage.

Pieces by well known composers such as J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart and Þorkell Sigurbjörnsson will be performed but music by the young composers of Iceland will be in leading role.
