Registration fee

As of autumnn 2024, students at the Iceland University of the Arts do not pay tuition fees, but an annual registration fee of ISK 75.000. (ISK 55.000. if applying for enrollment in the spring term).

This removal of tuition fees is applicable to both domestic and international students alike. Students from outside the European Union starting their studies in 2024 are also covered under this policy, providing a unique opportunity for those looking to pursue their education in Iceland. However, for students from outside the European Union commencing their studies post-2024, the policy´s continuation remains uncertain, although the exemption will be in effect for the entire duration of their course once granted. For more information, please contact lhi [at] lhi.is.

Payment and dates

A payment of ISK 75.000. registration fee in the Application Portal is a requirement for admission for new students. Due dates vary between departments depanding on application procedures. In case of the registration fee not being payed at a given due date the applicants place at the IUA can be cancelled and offered to an applicant on a waiting list.

Registration fee is non-refundable.

Study-break

Students on a study-break pay full registration fee.

Other expenses

Students will have to account for purchases of books and other materials. Printing costs will also have to be considered.

• June 20 for studies starting in fall.
• December 20 for studies starting in spring.
