Community-based music conference in York

Þorbjörg Daphne Hall, Professor of Musicology, and her research project, Building Bridges Through Collaboration, hosted a conference on pedagogy in community-based music projects in York in November.

The conference was held in collaboration with the International Centre for Community Music and York St. John University. Sigrún Sævarsdóttir-Griffiths, a lecturer at the Icelandic Institute of Music and a researcher in the research project, was the keynote speaker and led the creative project, and two master's students in the project, Sunna Guðlaugsdóttir and Cath Stephens, gave lectures.

The conference was an important input into the research project, as part of it concerns analyzing and understanding artistic work through diverse research methods. The research project Building Bridges Through Collaboration is funded by the Icelandic Science and Technology Policy Research Fund and is hosted by the Iceland Academy of the Arts.
