Lending rules
Borrowers
The LHÍ library is open to everyone. Students and staff of LHÍ are borrowers free of charge, but others can become borrowers of the museum by paying an annual fee according to tariff against presentation of ID. Graduates receive free access to the museum for one year after graduation. Borrower rights can be renewed if the borrower is free of debt to the museum. Borrowers in high arrears may risk losing their credit and the right to renew the books they have borrowed until they have settled.
Borrower's responsibility
- The borrower is fully responsible for the publications lent to him.
- If a publication is lost or damaged while on loan, the library reserves the right to collect compensation.
- Borrowers are kindly asked to take care of notifications about non-payment of the museum's data.
Loan period:
- Books 14 days
- Sheet music and script 30 days
- Magazine 3 days
- Videos are for internal use only
- Publications in the study library are borrowed for 3 or 7 days
- In special circumstances, for example for teaching, various manuals from the museum can be borrowed for a short term (1-3 day loan) by agreement. Encyclopedias, dictionaries, guidebooks and other similar reference books are not loaned out.
Loan renewal:
- Loans of data may be renewed if no borrower is listed on the waiting list for them.
- Borrowers themselves can renew loans twice Leitir.is.
Publications taken away
- Borrowers can withdraw funds themselves Leitir.is or requested that a book that is on loan be taken away for them. The borrower then receives a notification when the publication is ready for lending.
