Successful fashion show by fashion design graduates

The fashion show of fashion design graduates from the Iceland Academy of the Arts took place in Harpa on Tuesday, May 6. The fashion designers of the future showed their graduation works.

Last year's attendance record was broken at this year's fashion show. Nearly 600 guests attended the show, which was a great success. Guests and family members of the show were over the moon with the results.

Nine fashion designers are graduating from the program this time: Arnar Freyr Hjartarson, Guðlín Theódórsdóttir, Hallgerður Thorlacius, Hannes Hreimur Arason Nyysti, Íris Ólafsdóttir, Jóhannes Óðinsson, Kari Thor Barry, Klara Sigurðardóttir and Vilborg Björgvinsdóttir.

The final project for students in fashion design is an individual project that consists of free research, design, and production of a line of fashion clothing under the guidance of instructors.

Then Anna Róshildur composed and performed music for the fashion show. She positioned herself at the center of the stage and set the tone for the fashion show.

The fashion show by fashion design graduates is part of the extensive program of the Iceland Academy of the Arts graduation ceremony. The graduates' work will later be on display at the graduation exhibition for BA students in architecture, design and fine arts in Hafnarhús, which opens on May 17th.
