The Korda Symphony's annual concerts have established themselves as an essential event in the Icelandic music calendar. This country's most unusual orchestra counts over forty members and endlessly surprises music lovers with their sophisticated performances and powerful compositions that touch on different musical styles, from classical symphonic sound world into the hardest rock. Korda Symphony was nominated for the Icelandic Music Awards for their debut concert in 2022 and received the Icelandic Music Awards 2023 incentive award for use music and communicate it in creative ways to encourage people to become more active in society.

The music of the Korda Symphony is impressive and powerful, composed by the orchestra members together, but themare students of the Iceland Academy of the Arts and people in different places undergoing rehabilitation after life-changing traumas and health problems.

Korda is a collaborative project between MetamorPhonics, the Iceland Academy of the Arts, the Reykjavík City of Music, Harpa and vocational rehabilitation centers across the country. The project is supported by the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour, the Ministry of Education and Children's Affairs and the Ministries of Culture and Employment of Iceland, together with the Reykjavík City of Music and the Music Fund.
