Creative Arts Research Center and Music Center, in collaboration with CCP, are inviting you to an open discussion on Business party about the operating environment for musicians and music projects.

The event marks the first step in the government's music policy action plan, which stipulates that an examination of the music business environment in Iceland should be initiated and compared to the Nordic countries and other countries where the music industry is on a strong footing.

At the event, representatives from the academic community and the music industry, along with foreign professionals, will present different approaches to how to create a robust operating environment for music projects. Following this, a discussion with attendees will be opened, with an emphasis on gathering perspectives for continued work.

The goal is to lay the foundation for a shared vision and ensure that the voice of those involved in music operations is part of the formulation and implementation of government music policy.

Representatives from academia and the music sector, along with international experts, will present different approaches to building a strong and sustainable framework for music projects. The discussion will then open to the floor, with an emphasis on gathering perspectives and input for the ongoing work.

The goal is to lay the foundation for a shared vision and ensure that the voices of those working within the music sector are part of shaping and implementing Iceland's music policy.
