Kristrún is an artist, vocalist, composer and producer from the south coast of Iceland. She writes experimental electronic music and has released several singles and an EP under her self-titled solo project KRISTRÚN. Equal parts ethereal and abrasive, she combines flowing melodies with explosive soundscapes.

Kristrún graduated with a BA in Music from The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts in 2019.

Kristrún er tónskáld, söngkona, pródúsent og listakona af Suðurlandinu. Hún semur tilraunakennda raftónlist og hefur gefið út nokkrar smáskífur og EP-plötu undir listamannsnafninu KRISTRÚN.

Kristrún útskrifaðist með BA-gráðu í tónlist frá Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts árið 2019.

raddir rýmis

raddir rýmis (e voices in/of the ether) er lokaverkefni Kristrúnar Steingrímsdóttur úr meistaranáminu New Audiences and Innovative Practice (NAIP). Viðburður verður haldinn í Norræna Húsinu þann 26.mars kl 13:00.

raddir rýmis er innseting sem kannar áhrif efnislegs og tilfinningalegs rýmis á tónsköpun. Kristrún blandar saman ólíkum hljóðrýmum eins og Skálholtsdómkirkju, alhljóðeinangruðum klefa, Alviðruhamravita, Kálfholti og Norræna húsinu, og býr þar með til nýja hljóðvídd. Innsetningin er boð til áhorfenda til að taka þátt í, kanna, og upplifa rýmin í gegnum hug og augu tónskáldsins.

voices in/of the ether by Kristrún Steingrímsdóttir is her final project in the masters program New Audiences and Innovative Practice (NAIP). The event will be held in the Nordic House on the 26th March at 13:00.

voices in/of the ether is a dynamic installation that explores physical and emotional spatial textures in sonic composition. Kristrún blends together the sonic spaces of an anechoic chamber, Skálholt cathedral, Alviðruhamraviti (a lighthouse), the Nordic House, and Kálfholt (her farm), resulting in a new sonic dimension. The installation is an invitation for the audience to participate in and explore these assembled ethers through the composers eyes.
