Per Solem

Artist: Heimir Snær Sveinssson

We are on the move. We are weathering.

Per Solem is part of a continuing project of utilising time measuring devices as art producing objects. Working through different media and ephemera, this series of works calls out to various places through time. Going through a daily ritual of collecting stellar evidence, the mundane suddenly becomes loaded with meaning. It is a way of capturing a line and this line is our movement.

The Iceland University of the Arts welcomes you to the opening of Per Solem, a solo exhibition by Heimir Snær. The show offers works made under fragile conditions that follow gigantic movements and explores themes of the mundane, the shadow and movements of the sun relative to our bodies.

Heimir Snær is a multimedia visual artist and currently in his 2nd year of MA Fine Arts at Iceland University of Arts. Heimir has a background in Fine Art painting and working in Art Departments for film and TV. He has a BA Hons from the University of Cumbria and has held multiple solo and group shows in Iceland and Britain.
