In this lecture Thomas Pausz will present recent design projects linking ecology, design, and digital media: Species Without Spaces, a series of designed artefacts and film installations inspired by a beach ecosystem exhibited at Festival Interstices (France); and Haunted Ecologies, a dialogue with a urban river for which he was awarded the Stanley Picker fellowship in Design.

Thomas Pausz is a critical designer and researcher born in Paris and based in Reykjavík. He is an Associate professor at the Iceland Universisty of the Arts, and senior tutor at the MA Design & New Environments. Thomas proposes new forms of environmental storytelling and interspecies relations. Blending documentary field work, design fiction, and digital creation, Pausz uses design and digital media to give a voice to endangered landscapes.
